How we started

 

EvMarie's Cupcakery began in December 2012. It began as a dream that evolved into a reality.

Evelyn Cox, a career volunteer in the community, always heard her youngest daughter talking about cupcakes. As she began to focus in on the trend, she determined that her city, Selma, AL, could benefit from the sweet creations.

 

After discussing possible names for the sweet shop, Evelyn's granddaughter came up with the name for the bakery. The name is made up of Evelyn's first and middle name. EvMarie - which also makes up part of the name for her daughters who helped with the start-up of the bakery - Eve-Ann and Wanda Marie. Evelyn always incorporated family names into her many business ventures. This concept even spilled over into the naming of the businesses' first cupcake names. Many of the names included the names of special family members. 

 

The start of EvMarie's Cupcakery is definitely just the beginning. We expect to see this sweet sensation stick around for years to come.
